Steelers LT & Army Vet Alejandro Villanueva Stood Alone In Tunnel During National Anthem

An hour before their game against the Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin announced that no players from the team would be on the field during the playing of the national anthem, and social media went wild.

When the anthem began, cameras caught Steelers left tackle Alejandro Villanueva standing in the tunnel all by himself with his arm over his heart during the Star-Spangled Banner.

The Steelers remained inside during the national anthem, but LT and army vet Alejandro Villanueva stood alone outside of the tunnel.
